I love photography and creating art from pictures. I haven't been able to practice my art much in several years. I used to carry my camera everywhere. Now I only get a few opportunities a year. Still love it.

On a trip to the mountains last summer the place we stayed had great views of the mountain. This bench captured my attention the way the red stands out against the green of the apple trees and grass.

Recent trip to the mountains I woke up early which is unusual (I am not a morning person). I decided to see if I could get any sunrise pictures and then tried my hand at getting a cool lens flare.

On a short almost hidden trail near Linville Falls (NC Mountains) this water fall is hidden away. A bridge crosses the creek where you can get a glimpse of this waterfall. I loved how the water is in a cove which make the whole area quite magical.

My husband couldn't quite figure out what I was doing as he watched me taking this picture. I am sure I was a sight as I tried to get the angle where I could see the fence and the mountains. I love how your your eye follows the fence to the mountains in the distance which made this such an interesting picture. It turns out this is my husband's favorite. I ended up having to remove power lines and a pole to get the final picture I wanted. I think it was worth the effort.

I am an advocate for Decoding Dyslexia and October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. In honor of this, the Duke Energy Building in Charlotte, NC was lit up RED on Oct. 14th. This picture was taken from Marshall Park with my phone camera. I actually was able to get a better picture with my phone because I had my long lens on my camera. This image was my favorite because of the reflection in the pond of the red building
