This is a sculpture is inside the Atlanta Botanical Gardens which is a magnificent place to visit and take pictures. I took many pictures of orchids from these gardens that did not make it into the show because I could only choose TWO!

The artwork: Parterre Fountain Installation in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens was a centerpiece of the the gardens. Created for the Atlanta Botanical Garden in 2004, Dale Chihuly's Parterre Fountain Installation is a one-of-a-kind sculpture in blue and white, interpreting shapes and colors of water, ice and sky. A captivating assemblage of twisting, brightly colored glass, the sculpture sparkles in Levy Parterre Fountain, where it is especially lovely lit up after dark. See it sparkle from a whole new perspective, the top of the recently renovated Alston Overlook.

Works on Paper
I first drew semi-circles with a compass of varying widths from different viewpoints on the canvas. Then I drew Zentangle design patterns within the paths drawn in pencil. The whole thing was finished in black and white and I decided to go back and use my gel pens to color the lines. Some people think I bought this from a store and just colored it in.

I captured this candid shot of my husband and daughter sharing time together gazing at a $400+ Cinderella Lego Castle. I love how their shared passion for Legos and close relationship to each other is shown in this amazing photograph.

This is a piece done during a time of great uncertainty. A time that will forever change the course of history, much like the event of 9/11. It is important to record works of art, like this period piece, to document the historical significance of the times.
