Justyn Foth is a self taught artist. He began cultivating his talent in high school, but it wasn't until graduate school that he really began to produce art on a regular basis. He found making art provided him an outlet to work with his hands and escape the mental challenges of a rigorous doctoral program. He currently holds the position of waterfowl, turkey and upland gamebird program leader for DNREC's Division of Fish & Wildlife. His artwork and career focuses on his love of the outdoors, particularly birds.

A flock of landing Black-necked Stilts, appears to be dancing a ballet across the canvas. This piece is titled "Sur les Pointes" a ballet term meaning "on the points" because during flight and until right before the birds land, they fold in their feet similar to a ballet dancers toes on point.
