As a child I loved to draw and paint, but the demands of adulthood have left me with little time to indulge my passion. I will be 50 years young in April, so 2017 is all about personal enrichment and coming out of my comfort zone. I've discovered that I enjoy collage using old magazines and catalogs. The tedium of cutting the "tiles" is strangely therapeutic, and watching a design come to life gives me a little thrill ( I should get out more!). "Ode to Fingerhut" is literally my first free-style collage. I'm very excited to be entering it in this year's NAP contest in Charlotte, NC.
