Sculpture
A Raku piano keyboard tile, 7 inches x by 6 inches in a dark brown 13 x 16 inch frame under glass. This beautiful tile gets its patina by way of a Raku firing process. The bisqued piece is glazed with special Raku glazes that have copper oxide and silver nitrate in their mix and placed in a Raku kiln and fired to 1950 degrees. It is taken out of the kiln while flaming hot and placed in a container with combustables. The flames lick the glaze causing flashes of color. It is then smothered by covering it up and the reduction process the begins creating other combinations of colors

Glass suncatcher with embellishments
Glass suncatcher with embellishments
Craft
These started out as my stain glass leftovers and progressed into individual pieces of art. I cut and grind them, then I put the copper around the edges and I also put a coat of clear acrylic to protect the true copper color. I then wrap copper wire with beads to embelish each one with individual colors. Most of these turn into suncatchers with a copper hook on top to attach to a sunction cup that you would put on a glass window in your house or car. This one is a dark blue swirl glass, 7 inches x 1 1/2 inches wide.
