Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1976, Matthew currently resides in Canton, Georgia with his wife and four children. Matthew Phillips has always had an innate desire to create and discover. Matthew earned his BFA in Art Education from Georgia State University and MFA in sculpture at Savannah College of Art Design. Matthew has eighteen years of experience teaching art. He is in his second year at KSU.

This work is a projection of light through wooden slides made from spalted silver maple that is riddled with holes from powder post beetles. This piece incorporates a projector that must sit on a pedestal and have access to electricity.
