My current work – “SO I WAS, LIKE….” - references the current (and way overused) idiom ‘like’, a seemingly meaningless word that serves several purposes. Working on large sheets of museum board - mainly Sgraffito and mixed media - I dive into mind mulch (my own!), select adjectives that display emotions and states of mind, then present them so that both font and background illuminate the word itself, words that were chosen because they are intrinsically beautiful, and often have meanings both literal and figurative…
