I love the arts. The visual arts do not require the same translation that written discourse does. They are both emotional, but the visual seems to be be more immediate. I believe all people start off enjoying the visual arts. As I infuse all into my lessons as a public school teacher there is more excitement and interest than there is for the written word.
My Childhood Fence
My Childhood Fence
Works on Paper
I saw this fence in a photograph. It was behind me. Through context I realized that this was from San Diego, CA on a Naval Base. There is a lot of green because I was so young in the picture.

I find David Bowie fascinating. I remember seeing cassettes of his music at the Navy Exchange in Long Beach, CA right before he re-emerged with "Let's Dance." All of the tapes were in the bargain bin. I saw his face, and picked up each copy of what was available. I had never heard of him, and I never enjoyed "Let's Dance." I still enjoy the old Bowie even though theorhetically it was not my era.
The work is soft pastel and it is on textured paper.
