This photograph was taken in my garden. The way that the anemone was tipped reminded me of a dancer's twirling skirt. This photograph won first place in the Carolina Gardener Magazine photography contest in 2007 in the Plants category.

This photograph is part of a series I am currently working on called Flower Portraits. I am growing all of the flowers in this series in my garden. I photograph them all in my studio against a background and with lighting that highlights their natural beauty. I thought this Calla Lily was so delicate and had beautiful curves and subtle pink tones.

This is another photography from the Flower Portrait series. When this Gerbera Daisy bloomed in my garden I was immediately drawn to the beautiful subtle coloring of the petals. It almost looked like someone had taken a paintbrush and delicately painted the petals with watercolors.
