The painting measures 11” by 17” and is painted in acrylic on canvas. It hangs in a private collection in Washington, D.C.. The cityscape piece celebrates the Black Lives Matter Plaza, stretching two blocks long in our nations capital, which immortalizes Chocolate City. Using an impasto painting technique, Day includes iconic D.C. symbols such as the city flag and the Japanese cherry blossom tree.
