Storm Gathering 'Round the Bend

Close to sunset, I positioned myself carefully to get the whole of Horseshoe Bend in the camera frame. After all, that's the iconic photo. As I waited for the light to deepen the crevices in the rock walls, storm clouds roiled in the distance. It seemed they were emanating from the far stretch of the river. I re-imagined the photo with the storm and the river taking center stage.
