Much of my creative energy goes to my students as a Delaware public school teacher. I have a BFA in ceramics and sculpture from the University of Delaware and consider myself a mixed-media artist, and I am a National Board Certified Art Teacher. Fiber arts is a process-oriented art form that enables me to create works that are traditional or non-traditional.
This 24.5x34 inch quilt was created without using a published pattern. I thought of the idea, inspired by a friend's theme for her son's nursery, hence the title "Paynter's Mountain". This machine-stitched quilt is made with 100% cotton fabrics with some hand quilting.
