Donna Allen wins Best in Show Award
Portrait artist Donna Campbell Allen, a resident of The Oaks, recently received the Best in Show Award for her watercolor portrait, “Lin,” which is on display at Pine Camp Arts & Community Center. The show is part of Richmond’s National Arts Program®, a venue for artists of any age or experience level to showcase their work.
Allen received her award at the National Arts Program awards reception on June 26 at the Science Museum.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for families to see art,” says Allen, who works exclusively in watercolor. Allen prefers what she calls “the vibrant washes of watercolor.” She places a special emphasis on family portraits that celebrate life and has painted approximately 115 commissioned portraits over the past 12 years.
