The Conflict Series #2
The Conflict Series #2
Sculpture
This sculpture was a part of a series where I was investigating the human form in the media of clay. All of the poses were in a sitting position. This "Kneeiling Man" was the second. "During the period that I was building these sculptures I needed to keep my mind and hands busy. I was grieving the passing of my dear mother. Each of the poses in this series unintentionally reflected the inner "Conflict" that I was struggling with during the time. Media: Bmix clay, white crackle glaze, Raku fired.

Craft
This set was made on the pottery wheel and assembled by hand out of Bmix clay. After bisque and glazing, it was fired in a Wood Firing Kiln. Although they are glazed with the same glaze, the variation in color is due to the high temperature that they were fired.
