Moonlit Messenger
This linoleum block print explores my personal growth and shifting connection with my Persian culture. For a long time, I felt distant and uncertain about my identity, but through creating art and researching Persian symbolism, I began to reconnect and find strength in that heritage. The lotus flowers in the print represent femininity, purity, and references to Persian mythology, while the luna moth symbolizes divine feminine power, transformation, and resilience. The moth’s life cycle mirrors my own process of change and renewal as I learned to embrace both sides of my cultural identity. I used carving depth and texture to capture the mood of moonlight, emphasizing contrast and the ethereal quality of the scene. The work reflects my journey toward self-acceptance and balance between my identities.
