My love of photography began years ago when I decided to add graphic design to my portfolio of skills. Photography became the class I couldn’t wait to get to and the place where my creativity could run wild. I’ve always stayed connected to it but as my career in communications began to flourish, my focus shifted. They say you never forget your first love, so when my husband surprised me with a digital camera on my birthday my passion for photography rekindled. My photographic interests include black and white, landscape, people and nature.
My brother was diagnosed with stage four-colon cancer in July of 2013 shortly after his 41st birthday. After several months of chemo treatments and two surgeries, his battle ended on March 26, 2014. On the day I took this shot, I was thinking of him. I looked over and saw the feather in the water.
