Newly Minted Artists Facing Precarious Future

For art students finishing B.F.A. and M.F.A. programs this spring, the big debut was supposed to have been the thesis exhibition. The culmination of years of work, these shows represent a shot at getting discovered by curators, dealers, collectors and critics who make the rounds at top schools. Then the pandemic forced schools to close and truncate programs.

Thief tries to steal Banksy from hospital

Security guards spotted the person, dressed in a protective suit and carrying a cordless drill, repeatedly walking past and hovering around the painting, reported The Sun newspaper.
The suspicious person was “removed” from the hospital, a source said. “No harm occurred to either persons, the painting, or hospital property,” the trust said. The value of the painting, which is set to be sold at auction in the fall to support health care charities, is unknown.

Banksy Drops Off Superhero Nurse Artwork at Hospital in UK With a Thank You Note

A new Banksy art piece is inspiring the world since it was dropped off, and later hung on display, at Southampton General Hospital in the south of England Wednesday.

The artwork shows a young boy playing with his favorite new superhero doll—a nurse wearing a cape and face mask. On the floor nearby sits his discarded Spiderman and Batman action figures.

Tremendous Turnout for Hartford National Arts Program

There has been a National Arts Program show in Hartford, Connecticut for a remarkable 29 years. Not only has the show been running for so many years but it is also consistently one of our largest showcases with a whopping 348 entries this year! One particularly successful aspect of the show is there recurring “Teens looking out for Teens” category. This opportunity allows teens to learn about and express their feelings about social issues through their art.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Celebrated their Fifth Anniversary NAP Exhibit

Here we are now, looking back at a time in early March when the busiest airport in the world was the stage for another amazing National Arts Program awards reception! As an artist, having your work professionally displayed in the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport must be such a thrill. This year for their Fifth Anniversary NAP Exhibit, 221 pieces of art were hung throughout both the Atrium Gallery and T Concourse Gallery. The showcase opened on September 6th, 2019 and their awards reception was held on March 4th with 237 guests in attendance to enjoy the festivities.
