Minneapolis Institute of Art's "Foot in the Door" will go virtual
It only comes once a decade, and this year it’s a virtual affair. The Minneapolis Institute of Art’s “Foot in the Door” exhibition — offering any Minnesota artist the chance to show work at the state's biggest art museum — is going completely virtual. The show takes its name from the exhibition’s one requirement: artwork must not be bigger than one cubic foot.
Artist Sarah Sze's new massive sculpture at La Guardia excites!
Artist Sarah Sze explores the myriad conceptions of time and space through a tremendous, new spherical sculpture. Titled “Shorter than the Day” —a reference to Emily Dickinson’s poem “Because I could not stop for Death,” which considers the comfort found in life’s finality—Sze’s piece weighs five tons and was unveiled recently at LaGuardia Airport. It is suspended above an atrium in Terminal B. Hundreds of photos of the New York skyline are featured.

This year Advocate Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, in Milwaukee Wisconsin, held our 6th annual All-Caregiver art show with the support of the National Arts Program. We open this show to participants who are staff, volunteers, or retired staff at the hospital as well as the immediate family members of all three categories. The COVID-19 pandemic had a drastic impact to our show as we had to cancel our reception and severely limit the number of people who were allowed to see the show.

The National Arts Program has always been a way for employees and their family members to express themselves and share another facet of their personalities in the workplace.
Successful Sixth Year for Advocate Aurora Health Medical Center, WI
The Sixth Annual Advocate Aurora Health St. Luke’s Medical Center NAP Exhibit opened on February 21st. The show was displayed in the hospital skywalk once again and Coordinators Jill McNutt and Erin Hein collected and hung 150 pieces of art. The showcase includes artworks from artists that together represent thirty-five different hospital departments. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic their plans for an upcoming ceremony and reception had to be put on hold for what ended up being quite a long time.
