This is a very large, 22" x 30" painting of two cephalopods using a technique in which I spread a big puddle of clear water onto watercolor paper in a very rough squid-like shape, and then a drop of India ink was "bombed" onto the puddle, creating a giant instant spreading of the ink throughout the shape. Then, a fine paintbrush was used to quickly fan the inky water into a shape that finally resembles a squid. The ink dries very quickly so I REALLY had to work quickly and create any details before it dried. June, 2024.
