" The Buoyant Boy"

I like scratchboard technique. It is dramatic with deep blacks and contrasting white areas. For "The Buoyant Boy", I created a puddle of India Ink on coated white paper and barely shaped it with a brush. After the ink dried, I carefully began chiseling away at the blackness with an X-Acto blade and little features like the face and hands began to emerge. 2020.
