"The Southern Ocean Breaststroke Quartet"

This is a painting with a typically ridiculous title that was created by blobs of gouache that are mixed with a wet squeegee sponge and in turn quickly shaped by a fine tipped brush into a fish shape, and then the blunt end of the brush is used to impress details like fins and eyes into the wet watercolor paper. After the painting dries I use colored pencils for highlights and accents. Painted in June of 2025.
