On Our National Mall, New Monuments Tell Stories
For just one month, Friday, Aug. 18 through Sept. 18, the National Mall will be hosting “Pulling Together,” an open-air exhibition that tests what works best, or fails least, when artists, publics and monuments are brought together. In the shadow of the Washington Monument, six temporary installations tease out who and what should be commemorated, and how art can help us remember. (read story here)
Another Tremendous Turnout for State of Delaware!
Kristin Pleasanton, Deputy Director of the Delaware Division of the Arts, continues to coordinate an amazing art exhibit for the entire State of Delaware. This showcase gives state employees and their immediate family members a unique opportunity to exhibit their creative work at any skill level and age and to compete for cash prizes. Coordinator's Dedication Pays Off for Greater Orlando Aviation Authority!
A total of 127 artworks were on display this year in the Main Terminal of Orlando International Airport, Florida due to the tremendous efforts of coordinator, Lindy Shepherd. Lindy worked through several obstacles, to reach as many artists as possible, and to make their 16th Annual National Arts Program showcase a true success. Lindy stated that after the pandemic delayed and changed their artist call and exhibition dates, they were very pleased to move forward with the annual collaboration.
Christie’s Crowd-Sources 11,000 Drawings of King Charles III to Mark Coronation

In honor of King Charles III’s upcoming coronation, a digital portrait comprised of more than 11,000 drawings, made by people throughout Britain, is on view on a four-story interactive digital screen at the broadcasting company Outernet in central London. The effort benefits BBC Children in Need.

MSP Creates 2022: The Airport Community Art Show
2022 marks the 12th installment of this annual tradition showcasing artwork from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport’s employees, volunteers, retirees, and their family members. Made possible through support from the National Arts Program, this exhibition gives artists at all skill levels an uninhibited opportunity to exhibit their work and compete for cash awards.
This year, 165 works of art were submitted, and 27 prizes were awarded between the Professional, Intermediate, Amateur, Teen, and Youth categories.
Another Incredible Showcase for Osceola County, FL
Osceola Arts hosts an exceptional National Arts Program Exhibit every year which includes artists from the Osceola County Florida School District, Osceola Arts, and their family members. This year 221 pieces of art were professionally hung throughout Osceola Arts Galleries creating an amazing display for viewers to enjoy. This was the 18th Annual Exhibit for Osceola County and Coordinator Marilyn Cortes-Lovato always makes sure the show is a success from start to finish! The reception, which was held on January 14th was a joyous occasion with approximately 300 guests.
Virtual Showcase for Pinellas County's 15th Annual NAP
This was the 15th Annual National Arts Program Exhibit for Pinellas County, FL. This year, they once again, had to hold a virtual showcase due to continued concerns about Covid 19. Coordinator Sarah Markofski moved the show to a different platform this year, utilizing Flickr to share the exhibition. When the virtual showcase finally opened there were a total of 222 works shared by 137 artists! It was quite an amazing collection of artworks, and we are so pleased that the show could be so successful during these years when the in-person showcase was not yet possible.

NFL Chooses Chicana and Indigenous Artist Lucinda Hinojos to Create Artworks and Ticket Design for 2023 Super Bowl

Ahead of Super Bowl LVII next month, the NFL has chosen Arizona-based artist Lucinda Hinojos to create key art tied to the upcoming sporting event, which will be at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Hinojos, who is also known as “La Morena,” is the first Chicana and Indigenous artist to be selected by the NFL for such a collaboration, which includes creating artwork that is featured on the tickets for the 2023 Super Bowl and displayed across Arizona in the month leading up to the game.

Boston Celebrates 5th Annual Exhibit

The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture (MOAC) partners with The National Arts Program each year to discover and celebrate artistic talent among the City of Boston employees.
