The Nicolaysen Art Museum was kind enough to once again offer their space as the site for the City of Casper National Arts Program® Exhibition. This was their sixth year and Coordinator Vicky Macy did a fabulous job of increasing participation in the exhibit. The number of participant more than doubled from last year and included, in Vicky’s words, “truly exceptional works”.

Oakwood Healthcare System, Michigan Celebrates its Fifth Anniversary
Sandra Baughman features a looping power point of all the art of the employees on a huge 15 foot screen during the reception of the Oakwood Healthcare Arts for the Spirit Employee art show. As the participants walk in they are drawn to the big screen at one end of the room that is scrolling slowly through each and every person’s artwork. Some just stand and watch, some sit at the tables and watch the show, while other’s try to catch their piece on the next round and get a photo with it larger than life.

In 2008 the Department of Arts and History was established by the City of Boise to enhance the Boise community by providing leadership, advocacy, education, services and support for arts and history. One year later this newly created department agreed to incorporate the National Arts Program Exhibit into their schedule of events.
Honolulu, HI Increases Participation
The Sixth Annual National Arts Program® Exhibit for the City of Honolulu hung throughout the month of June and included a beautiful collection of art from the employees and their family members. “The creativity displayed in these works is amazing,” said Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts Executive Director Kaleve Iosefa.
Oakwood Celebrates Art, Healing with Annual Employee Exhibit
Art Helps Heal at NAPA State Hospital, CA
Napa State Hospital in California held its Fifth Annual NAP Exhibit this year, which hung for more than a month in the gallery space within the hospital. There were over 100 artworks displayed including 35 from the adult categories and 33 from both the youth/teen categories. Coordinator Sally Denman commented that the additional youth/teen category participation was, “especially nice and that many of them came to the award ceremony,” adding that “it’s always fun to have children there and see their faces when they win a prize!”
