Lexington-Fayette County Registration Deadline Extended

Student from the Technical Schools of Camden County Wins Third Place

Two senior students, Miguel Serrano and Maria DeJesus, participated in the National Arts
Program® in Camden County at the Katz Jewish Community Center, located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Miguel Serrano won 3rd Place in the Teen category for his painting entitled “Terror Before the Storm.”

NAP Featured on Arts & Science Council Blog

Every year for the past 12 years, ASC has partnered with the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and Charlotte Mecklenburg Libraries to bring the National Arts Program to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center. The program is open to government employees, retirees and their families.

NAP Featured on West Hartford News.Com

WEST HARTFORD—Karen Israel of West Hartford was awarded Best in Show at the 21st Annual National Arts Program exhibit held recently at Capital Community College. Judges for the work had to review more than 300 pieces in all media, from sketches on paper to sculpture and crafts.

Juror Raves about Lubbock, TX

On November 4th, our longest running venue held their reception celebrating their 22nd Annual NAP Exhibit. Coordinator Paula Griffith commented that this is a favorite show for the staff of the Lubbock Municipal Garden & Arts Center. This year there were 102 pieces hung and two jurors had the difficult job of choosing those that would be recognized with awards and ribbons.

The National Arts Program® is excited to announce our newest venue: Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, FL!

Indianapolis, IN Adds Artists Bios

This was the Fourth Year for Indianapolis and once again it was a beautiful showing of talent from the city employees, retirees, family members as well as city volunteers. Coordinator Kris May collected entries including ceramics, paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and more, and as usual the exhibit was beautifully hung in the Garfield Park Arts Center.
 
Their awards reception which was held on September 24th was well attended and included catering from Target Deli as well as live piano music by Glenda White.

NAP Staff to Attend Awards Reception at Johns Hopkins Hospital

The National Arts Program's® staff will be attending the 4th Annual NAP Awards Reception for Johns Hopkins Hospital this afternoon (2/7).  Guest speakers including the Executive Director of the NAP, Jackie Szafara and Johns Hopkins President, Mr. Ronald Peterson will be on hand to help commemorate the occasion.  The reception will be held in the Turner Concourse at 3:30pm. Huge Turnout for 21st Show in Hartford, CT

On January 28th the Centinel Hill Hall of Capital Community College was standing room only. More than 400 people were in attendance to celebrate the 21st Annual NAP Exhibition in Hartford, Connecticut. The exhibition which featured 285 pieces of artwork from more than 165 residents in the Greater Hartford and Middlesex Counties was on display from January 23rd through February 4th, 2012.

Spotlight on Olivia Woodford, Health Arts Network at Duke Coordinator

The Health Arts Network at Duke (HAND) had held an employee art show for 30 years before being introduced to the National Arts Program® in 2008. Olivia Woodford, the Director for HAND, attended the Society for Arts in Healthcare Conference where she learned about the NAP. She knew instantly that there was an opportunity for partnership. Olivia had already been working on developing models for use of the arts as a tool for health and well-being for twenty five years, so the incredible benefits of a program such as ours were clear to her immediately.

Hartford, CT Announces 2012 Award Winners

With more than 400 people in attendance, Hartford, CT hosted their 21st Annual NAP Awards Reception on Saturday, January 28th.  The exhibition features 285 pieces from 168 different artists and will be on display at the Capital Community College through February 4th.  To view images from this year's exhibition, just visit their venue page of our website.
