Eighth Year for Orlando, FL

On June 13th the 8th Annual National Arts Program® in the City of Orlando opened and included 120 artworks from 87 artists. The exhibit, titled "Orlando City Artworks: art by those who serve" has become a wonderful tradition for the employees and their families. Every year an amazing collection of visual artwork is hung in the Orlando City Hall Terrace Gallery.

Spotlight on Judy Ginsburgh - Coordinator for Central Louisiana Arts and Healthcare, LA

Judy Ginsburg founded, and now runs, an organization whose mission is to provide innovative arts programming in healthcare settings to promote healing for patients, respite for family members and stress relief for medical personnel. She was able to see the great benefits of a program such as the National Arts Program® immediately and five years ago joined our family of venues.
 
Although Judy herself is an accomplished musician she pours as much passion into this visual art exhibit as she does any based around her love of the performing arts.

Jurors get involved in the Los Angeles Superior Court, CA Show

This was the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Ninth Annual National Arts Program® Exhibit and once again the show was displayed throughout the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. Over 5000 people were invited to participate in this annual exhibit and each year it produces a tremendous collection of works from the employees and their family members.

NAP Welcomes Renown Health, NV

More than 85 employees and their family members participated in the First Annual NAP Exhibition for Renown Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Not only did first time Coordinator Annie Zucker do a fabulous job organizing and displaying the 131 pieces of artwork throughout the hospital, she is already thinking about next year’s program. Annie stated her goal is to have more than 200 pieces on display for their 2012 exhibition.

National Arts Program® exhibit at One Hundred Oaks is a showcase of Vanderbilt talent

You owe it to yourself to drop by the art exhibit at Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks to see the National Arts Program’s® Third Annual Exhibit and Competition.
 
I was there one recent afternoon and spent much more time than I had anticipated walking through the exhibit, enjoying the creativity and talent of the artists, all of whom are Vanderbilt employees or family members.

McMurry University Art Professor Kathie Walker-Millar Wins Award

ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Art Professor Kathie Walker-Millar’s porcelain sculpture “Guadalupe River, Two Friends and Hummingbird” received second place in 3D at the Texas Art Education Conference in Galveston coming up November 10 -13.
 
Previously, the art piece was accepted into the University Dallas Regional Show last February; it travelled to Midwestern University in Wichita Falls in May; then this fall it received second place in the Professional Division in the juried National Arts Program®.

Tacoma art exhibit honors “Hero Dogs”

“Hero Dogs: All Gave Some, Some Gave All,” a series of 22 paintings, pastels and digital work by Janette Stiles, is on display now in the Tacoma Municipal Building, 12th Floor, Tacoma City Hall Gallery. Each piece in the exhibit honors a different service dog and is accompanied by information on the animal and its act of bravery. From police dogs, to bomb-sniffing dogs, to rescue dogs, the series honors and memorializes these highly-trained four-legged friends. The exhibit will be on display through Oct.

LYNX employees in Orlando fill TranspARTation Gallery

LYNX, the Orlando public transportation authority once again hosted employees artwork in the TranspARTation Gallery. Debbe King hung close to 90 pieces of art from transportation workers and their family members for the month of October. One family had 3 winner in three different categories. CEO John M Lewis attended a reception for the particpants and presented awards to the winners. He was impressed with the quality and the diverse group of different departments represented in the show.

City of Tulsa, OK Announces Winners

The City of Tulsa, OK announces the winners of their 6th Annual NAP Exhibition.  The show, which hung for most of the month of October, featured close to 90 pieces of artwork from 25 different departments within the city.  Pictures from this year's exhibition can be seen on their venue page of our website. New Layout Revealed for NAP Website

The website continues to be the face of the National Arts Program® to our participants, coordinators and the public alike. It is an ongoing process and a passion of ours, to keep it fresh, engaging and relevant. The new homepage design was introduced October 5th and highlights some of our most popular features.

National Arts Program® Adds Featured Video

The National Arts Program® website recently refreshed their home page once again. This allows the NAP to feature videos provided by some of our venues and/or interviews with various artists and coordinators. This new addition to the website adds another valuable tool for artist to get more exposure and the opportunity for the NAP to highlight some of our venues and participants.

Spotlight on Paul Wenzel - Coordinator for the City of Orlando, FL

The National Arts Program® exhibition in the City of Orlando entitled “City ArtWorks: art by those that serve” is coordinated by Paul Wenzel, the City’s Public Art Coordinator. Paul does a tremendous job of organizing this annual event and always makes certain that the hidden talents of these amazing employees are recognized by all.
Paul is extremely passionate about the arts and is always looking for new ways to get the public involved. One such concept included an art workshop which took place during the Annual NAP Awards Reception.
