Pinellas County, FL Shows its True Colors

Pinellas County held its Fifth Annual NAP ‘Colors of Pinellas’ Employee Art Show this year and as always it was a beautiful exhibit. Enthusiastic Coordinators Maria Reilly and Laura Berkowitz, backed by the support of the County Management and their talented employees, came together once again to produce this year’s show which included 158 artworks. A slide show, prepared by Jeffrey Withrow of the Human Resources Department, worked out perfectly as a way to announce the winners and showcase their pieces during the awards reception.

Once again, Coordinator Mindy Levine organized this year’s exhibit which included 182 artworks from city and county employees and their family members. This was the Eleventh Annual National Arts Program Show for Charlotte-Mecklenburg and over 200 were in attendance at the January 27th Awards Reception.

Spotlight on Amanda Klass - NAP Coordinator for Johns Hopkins Medicine, MD

Amanda Klass, Guest Services Coordinator at Johns Hopkins Hospital, has been organizing their National Arts Program® Exhibit since 2009. It was immediately clear to us that Amanda was going to be the right person for the job. Not only is she passionate about the show, but she is diligent in making sure that it goes above and beyond our expectations.
 
Amanda is very good at what she does and she cares about the quality of the experience for all who choose to take part in the show.

Fourth Year in S.P.A.C.E. for Savannah, GA

The S.P.A.C.E Gallery in Savannah, Georgia is a community exhibition space with holds approximately nine exhibitions each year ranging from youth and solo shows to group and traveling exhibits. This beautiful space is also transformed once a year to showcase the NAP Exhibit which includes artwork from Savannah employees and their family members.

Fifth Anniverary for Tulsa, OK

The City of Tulsa, Oklahoma celebrated their Fifth Annual National Arts Program® Exhibition this year. Once again, the NAP partnered with the WaterWorks Art Center to put on the show displaying artwork from employees and their family members. The artwork was hung at the Central Center located at Centennial Park. New Coordinator Vickie Henry commented that, “there was a nice variety of art from each age and classification.”

Memorial Health Care, TN Extends Exhibition

For the second year in a row Melissa Tinker coordinated the Fourth Annual National Arts Program® for Memorial Health Care System located in Tennessee. This year’s exhibition was hung on the second floor hallway of the hospital between the Surgery waiting room and the Emergency Room, providing visitors with a welcome diversion while waiting in a hospital setting. Melissa commented that, “our patients, visitors, staff and everyone who walks down the hallway benefit from the art.”

Lubbock, TX Utilizes NAP Non-Matching Scholarship Money

The City of Lubbock, one of our longest standing venues, held its Twenty-First Annual National Arts Program® Exhibit in October of 2010. The overall participation was up due to the efforts of those within the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center that are coordinating the show. With 113 artworks displayed from sixteen different city departments, it was quite a show.

Hartford, CT Comes Back Strong in 2010

The National Arts Program® welcomed Hartford, CT back to the program this year to celebrate their 20th Anniversary Exhibition. After taking a break since 2006, Hartford’s 2010 show triumphed with more than 150 artists participating from both Greater Hartford and Middlesex County, producing a total of 250 pieces of artwork.
