Napa State Hospital, CA Boost Attendance

Another Great Year for Union County, NJ

For the ninth year, Coordinator Libby Reid ran an excellent National Arts Program® exhibition for the employees of Union County and their family members. Always heavily supported by the local Freeholders, Libby had several as guest speakers during the awards reception. NAP Executive Director, Jackie Szafara, also spoke and urged all the artists to upload their artwork to the National Arts Program® artist gallery of the new website to allow others to view their work.

Eight Years for LA Superior Court, CA

Once again, Coordinator Pebbla Wallace was running the show for the Los Angeles Superior Court. This year was their Eighth Annual NAP Exhibition and what a success it was! All 183 pieces were hung in the Jury Assembly Rooms of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse and the Criminal Justice Center. Having the works displayed in such a space, allows thousands of jurors who attend jury services to view them. Not only do the juror’s really enjoy examining the artwork, but they are also invited to vote on their favorites so that a ‘Juror’s Choice Award’ may be presented at the reception.

Five “People’s Choice” for Casper, WY

Casper, WY celebrated their Fifth Anniversary with the National Arts Program® this past June with more than 70 participants from the City of Casper, Town of Mills, Town of Evansville and Natrona County Government and School District. The artwork was once again displayed in the Rosenthal Gallery at the Nicolaysen Art Museum.
 
For the second year in a row, Coordinator Vicky Macy had a People’s Choice award in each of the five classification levels (Amateur, Indermediate, Professional, Youth & Teen).

Orlando, FL Hosts Employee Workshop

For the seventh year in a row, Orlando, FL hosted a wonderful National Arts Program® Exhibition for the city employees and their families. With more than 120 pieces on display in the Terrace Gallery of City Hall, Coordinator Paul Wenzel returned as coordinator of the program after taking a break for a few years.

Fifth Year Shines for Tacoma, WA

The City of Tacoma held their Fifth Annual National Arts Program® awards ceremony at the Municipal Building and had a record attendance, including NAP Executive Director Jackie Szafara. The show is hung on separate floors of two municipal buildings in downtown Tacoma, strategically located as you exit the elevators on each floor. This gives the artwork a steady flow of viewers coming in and out of the buildings all day.

Cleveland, OH Breaks Participation Record

Now in their eleventh year with the NAP, Cleveland, OH broke their participation record with amazing 213 different artists. This is 27 more people than they had participate in their 2009 show, which was a record breaking show for them as well.

Jackson, MS Adds Additional Best of Show Awards to 6th Annual NAP Show

After taking a break in 2008, Jackson, MS has come back strong in 2010. The Sixth Annual NAP Exhibition has more than 80 entries, most of which were first time participants in the program.
