After taking a break in 2008, Jackson, MS has come back strong in 2010. The Sixth Annual NAP Exhibition has more than 80 entries, most of which were first time participants in the program.

City of Detroit Extends Registration Deadline

City of Tacoma Breaks Record in Year Five

The City of Tacoma celebrated five years with the National Arts Program® this past week with a record number of participants. With over 135 pieces were hung in two locations, the Municipal Building and the Public Utilities offices, the show has "become a highlight for the employees each year," says Coordinator Naomi Strom-Avila. NAP Executive Director Jackie Szafara was on hand to help them celebrate and hand out the awards. She emphasized to the audience the need to keep art alive in their daily life and thanked them for sharing it with others.

Los Angeles County Superior Court, CA Announces 2010 Winners

Now in their eighth year with the NAP, Los Angeles Superior Court displayed more than 180 pieces of artwork by 95 different artists.  The exhibition hung in the jury assembly rooms of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse and the Criminal Justice Center from April 5 through May 21, 2010.

2010 Union County Employee Art Show, Amateur Winner - Bruce Long of Westfield

Union County Freeholder Bette Jane Kowalski congratulates Bruce Long of Westfield on winning the amateur category in the 2010 Union County Employee Art Show during the opening reception at the Elizabethtown Gas Company’s Liberty Hall Center in Union.
 
The contest, co-sponsored by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and The National Arts Program Foundation, was open to Union County employees and their relatives.
 
The exhibit will be open to the public weekdays until May 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
