Artwork from nearly 100 municipal employees and their families was on display recently at Portland City Hall as part of the fourth Annual Exhibit and Awards of the National Arts Program®, city officials announced Thursday in a press release.

By now most of us know that VUMC has transformed One Hundred Oaks into a really snappy-looking place to go to the doctor. But I don’t want you to miss the fact that that One Hundred Oaks also has one of the most interesting art exhibits of 2009 in Nashville.

After 29-year-old Sam Decker got into a traffic accident last summer, after coming out of a 10-day coma, after the doctors told him he had a severe brain injury, he learned there was a lot he wouldn't be able to do again.

Or so they said.

Only in their third year with the National Arts Program®, Lexington, KY managed to dramatically increase not only their participation, but the number of pieces on display.

 "Things have been hectic," says Chris Luciani, Coordinator for the City of Cleveland, OH National Arts Program.

For the fourth year, Central Lousiana Arts & Healthcare, Inc. hosted their combination performing and visual arts follies.

The National Arts Program® is pleased to announce our first venue in the state of Wisconsin.

"What a pleasure it is to see the outstanding artwork done by Union County employees and their families," said Freeholder Bette Jane Kowalski, liaison to the Cultural and Heritage Programs Advisory Board.
