Local artists display their talents during the '15 under 40' art exhibit in Montgomery

For more than a dozen young artists in Montgomery, Alabama, Thursday night served as a chance to garner some gallery exposure while showing off their talents during the "15 under 40" exhibit reception at Stonehenge Gallery.
 
Gallery Director Richard Metzger said the purpose of the exhibit, which will be on display for 10 days, is to give young artists experience in a gallery setting so they won't feel intimidated or uncertain when approaching different venues in the future.

'Caveat Emptor': An Art Exhibit Made Entirely Of Forgeries Confiscated By The FBI

 
Upon entering "Caveat Emptor" you will likely be able to recognize the exhibition's work with confidence. Iconic pieces made famous by art legends like Chagall, Warhol, Gauguin and De Kooning adorn the walls, and yet, you probably haven't heard of a single artist showing.
 
That's right, "Caveat Emptor," which translates to "let the buyer beware," is composed entirely of forgeries that have been confiscated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

A Rare Chance to Stroll a Park Avenue Tunnel, in the Name of Art

Valley Hospital in Ridgewood hosts art exhibit

 
Lovely watercolor scenes and dramatic photography make for a perfect summer show at the Valley Hospital Gallery.
 
Lisa DeMaria says the photos in this exhibit are exactly as she sees them through her lens. Most of her images are captured from nature, with a few portraits of "the beautiful creatures with whom I share my life." She feels that sometimes less is more – as long as it’s really big.

The City of Aurora Brings Back the NAP

Mary Koernig, the Public Art Coordinator for the City of Aurora, CO commented that everyone was very pleased that they brought back the NAP employee art show after missing out in 2012. With the reinstatement of the show came great success and their best participation to date. Even though their seventh year was their largest exhibition yet, Mary is already looking ahead. She plans to open the show up to new groups including both city retirees and volunteers in 2014.
 
In addition to the growth in numbers, Mary is also working on other aspects of the show.

Braille art exhibition to open at Abertay University

Double Blind Test Series is an exhibition of print works highlighting the artistic research by Abertay lecturer and researcher David Lyons.

A New Name for Children’s Hospital of Michigan

Like many hospitals, Children’s Hospital of Michigan belongs to a larger hospital network that includes nine other sites throughout the area. So when thinking of ways to freshen up their exhibit as well as increase participation, longtime venue coordinator Grace Serra made the logical leap of giving the employees from these other hospital locations the opportunity to join the program.
