Art patronage through the ages …

The idea of patronage networks to support those creating art originated in ancient Rome. It likely peaked in importance as an institution of society in Europe between the 14th and 17th centuries. When we think of patronage in this classic sense, images of wealthy gentry, royalty or even the church come to mind.
 
In today’s world, art patronage is much more accessible.

This year’s competition consisted of 82 pieces submitted by 52 artists aged 7 and older, all of whom are residents of Camden County or employed by or the family member of someone employed by the County of Camden or Camden County College.

DFW International Airport Goes Green in 2013

As part of a ‘Green Initiative’ this year Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport made a few key changes to their National Arts Program Exhibit®. They encouraged all participants to register online and also used an email version of their yearly reception invite. During the reception they made the decision to project the evening’s agenda up onto a wall rather than printing them for all attendees as they have in the past. These were simple solutions and Guy said that, “people really appreciated the ‘going greener’ effort”.

Must see art exhibit shows off talent of DMC employees, family, patients and volunteers

More than 177 paintings, drawings, prints, textiles and photographs were submitted by staff, family, volunteers and patients, youth and adult, to what is an exciting event that reveals a wealth of artistic talent at DMC.
 
Art contest winners have been selected, but the exhibit continues through June 24.

A New Partnership for Camden County
