An Eventful Show for the Mount Sinai Medical Center

Rarely do art shows get moved in the middle of the show, but that is exactly what happened after the artwork was hung for the Fourth Annual NAP Exhibition in the lobby of the Mount Sinai Medical Center, NY. The exhibit was actually moved several times by hospital staff without the art show committee’s knowledge! It even rained so heavily that the roof leaked into the exhibit space, but Mount Sinai artists prevailed, with no damage and a reception that went off without a hitch. The 80 or so participants have incredible talent and run the gamut from oils to pastels.

NAP Artist Named Western Maryland Blues Artist 2012

Blues music might not be listed in Kate Fortin's top favorite musical genres, but that doesn't mean the 25-year-old artist can't appreciate how the music makes people feel.

It's being able to express that feeling on canvas might be one reason Fortin was named as the Western Maryland Blues Artist for 2012.
