NAP Artist Featured in Harbor Gallery Exhibition

CAPE MAY – Nature and attention to detail continue to inspire artists in the Harbor Gallery at the Nature Center of Cape May, 1600 Delaware Avenue in Cape May.
 
Local artists Peg Dittmar and Sandy Maloney bring their expertise and passion for birds to this new exhibit. The exhibit will continue through the end of the month.

Napa State Hospital More Than Doubles Participation

With the NAP asking our venues across the country to step up participation numbers in order to make our funding go further, our Napa State Hospital Coordinator Sally Denman really rose to the occasion. Using the NAP Exhibition as a way to boost morale and provide a sense of team spirit throughout the hospital, Sally was able to encourage a number of first time participants to enter the show.

Registration Deadline Extended for Indianapolis, IN

There is still time to participate in the 5th Annual NAP Exhibition in Indianapolis, IN. The registration deadline has been extended until Sunday, May 26th.  The 26th is also the last day to deliver your artwork to the Garfield Park Arts Center located at 2432 Conservatory Drive.
 
Eligible participants include employees, volunteers, retirees and immediate family members of an employee of the City of Indianapolis, IN.

Society for the Arts in Healthcare’s 23rd Annual International Conference

The Society for the Arts in Healthcare’s 23rd annual international conference, "Arts & Health: A Global View", took  place May 2 to 5, 2012, at the Westin Book Cadillac hotel in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Hosted by Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, the Conference, which the NAP has attended several times, is an opportunity to immerse yourself in arts and health best practices, programs and cutting-edge research.

DFW Announces 2012 Award Winners

Dallas Fort/Worth International Airport, TX is pleased to announce the winners of their 6th Annual NAP Exhibition.  The exhibiton which features 132 pieces of artwork from 82 different artists is on display at the Rental Car Center through May 25th.

NAP Featured in Press of Atlantic City

Standing before a room of Cape May County artists during the opening of the county's 11th annual National Arts Program Exhibit, Freeholder and Vice Director of the program Susan Sheppard said she didn't realize Cape May County had so much talent.
 
"I can't tell you how proud I am of all the talent we have in this county," Sheppard said. "It's kind of shocking."
 
The exhibit is housed in the lobby of the Middle Township Performing Arts Center.

The National Arts Program is excited to welcome Santa Maria, CA back for their 2nd Annual NAP Exhibition in 2012.  The exhibition will be on display at the Santa Maria Public Library from October 6 - 24.  Look for more information including how to register coming in the next few months.

"ARTWorks" Awards Ceremony Honors Winners

A Tuesday evening reception featured an awards ceremony honoring winners of the 13th annual “ARTWorks” competition that showcases the creative talents of City of Pittsburgh employees, their families and members of their households.
 
The City-County Building’s grand lobby currently serves as the setting of an impressive collection of paintings, photographs, drawings, pottery and other unique pieces of artwork.

A New Space for Camden County

In the six years that Camden County, NJ has hosted the National Arts Program® they have moved the show four times. From the Cultural & Heritage Hopkins House museum in Camden, to the Camden Library, back to Hopkins House, then this year clear across town to the Katz Jewish Community Center. Each change has brought more artists than the last and this year was no exception. NAP Coordinator Sandra Turner-Barnes who is the Cultural & Heritage Director for Camden County, was a bit nervous after the last show included an outstanding total of 155 pieces.
