Returning Artists in Tulsa Recognized for their Talents
Many artists from the previous year’s NAP exhibition returned to enter new artwork in the Seventh Annual Exhibition for Tulsa, OK employees and their family members. Two of these returning artists were not only awarded prizes in their respective categories, they were able to improve their placement from the previous year. Emma Hammer, a Youth 12 & Under artist who was previously awarded Second Place, won First Place for her piece entitled, “Birch River” (pictured) and Gary Deerinwater, an Intermediate artists who won First Place last year, was awarded Best of Show for his piece entitled,
A Year of Art for Memorial Health Care
“Finally, the art is back!” and “I’ve missed the art so much!” are just a few of the statements made by passersby while taking in the artwork lined hallway at Memorial Health Care System, TN. The artwork not only adorns one of the longest hallways in the hospital, stretching from the Emergency Department to the Surgery Waiting area, but is traveled daily by everyone from patients to associates to doctors.

Health Arts Network at Duke Continues the Tradition
As usual this was another extremely successful year for the Duke Employee Art Show. There were 135 amazing artworks displayed from August 29th through September 26th. Since 1978, the Duke Employee Art Show has shared the talent of Duke employees with the Duke University community. In 2008, HAND partnered with the National Arts Program® to produce an employee and family art show that included cash prizes, scholarships and the addition of the youth and teen categories.
